Meghan Markle Sues Newspaper For Publishing Her Letter To Dad Thomas Markle; Accuses Them Of 'Harassing And Exploiting'
Ever since she tied the knot with the then-Dutch of Sussex Prince Harry, Meghan Markle claims to have not seen her father Thomas Markle. On Friday, Meghan accused a newspaper of causing a deep rift between them. And if a report in The Sun is anything to go by, Meghan has now sued Associated Newspapers, owner of the Mail for allegedly publishing some parts of a letter that she wrote to Thomas in August 2018, three months after he decided to not to be part of Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding.

The report added how during a pre-trial hearing at London’s High Court, Meghan’s legal team stated she was “deeply shocked and upset” because of the accused newspaper’s reporting that “intended to portray her in a false and damaging light”. Meghan also accused the publication of “harassing” her father. As per Page Six, in the virtual hearing that the couple was part of from their LA home amid the lockdown, the judges were also told that Associated Newspapers had an “obvious agenda” to publish “intrusive or offensive stories” about her.

Meghan also claimed that her letter was edited to “purposely mislead” readers, which was vehemently denied by Associated Newspapers. Amid the Friday hearing, Meghan’s legal team also argued AN destroyed Meghan and Thomas’ relationship and accused them of “harassing” the veteran and “exposing him to the world as a royal scammer” after publishing that he purposely set up the paparazzi photographs before Meghan and Harry’s wedding.

The Suits actress is suing the newspaper over damages for misuse of private information, copyright infringement, and breach of the Data Protection Act 2018. London High Court’s judge revealed that the decision will be taken with a week.
